A QUILT IS A PIECE OF YOUR IMAGINATION
I always get super excited when I am ready for a new quilt project, mind you sometimes I still have some ongoing ones, but that won't stop me from starting a new one!!
The starter point will be a fabric collection that I just bought, or a picture I saw that had color coordinations that I really liked, and I just can't help wanting to get something going.
Once I have the fabric all aligned on my work table, I will pull out my shapes and think which ones would best suite the fabric, if there are small prints I will choose medium size shapes, if there are big prints I will choose big shapes to enjoy the designs on the fabric.
In other words, there is never a bad time to start a new project, because if you really have your mind set on it, it will be made without you realizing it.
